Academy Awards took place and the looks were nothing but ordinary. Rihanna walked the red carpet in a sexy, sheer black dress. Many were blown away by the look and want to recreate this iconic look but in a more casual, everyday way.

The sheer back dress is designed by Alaïa. The look consisted of a black leather bandeau top, a sheer long sleeve top and a low-rise draped leather skirt. The sheer portion of the dress beautifully showed off her bump. We can all see Rihanna is giving a new spin to maternity chic. 

Sheer is in for Spring 2023

 Sheer dresses and tops have taken over the runways, fashion shows and red carpets. However, not everyone may be comfortable to show an immense amount of skin. This trend has shifted to street style and finding ways to make the eye-catching trend more mundane and simple. 

According to WWD, "There is no right or wrong way to style the sheer trend...This freedom in choosing what to bare means you can opt to conceal what you wish underneath these fine pieces."

Sheer clothing can be versatile of wearing it with nothing underneath or pairing with lace bralette. For a more modest look, you can pair a full coverage bra or bandeau similar to Rihanna's look.
